The Business

Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation (SI EA) is a global business unit with a complete portfolio offering in electrification and automation, strong presence in relevant geographies and vertical markets. It serves its customers with products, systems, solutions and services to enable and drive transformation of electrical networks through IoTzation, innovation and disruption.

Role Headline

Leads all commercial sales activities necessary for successful tendering and proposal management, including but not limited to offer preparation, optimization and negotiation.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Supports accountable Sales Management, provides advice and proposes measures regarding business administration in both SI EA and SI GSW
  • Drives implementation of financial and business administration policies, standards and procedures for the Sales and Proposal Management function. Improves sales processes and data accuracy/availability (including use of global tools, AI)
  • Accomplishes financial analysis, planning and controlling activities applicable to Sales
  • Coordinates legal, treasury and tax compliance assessments to identify optimal business models
  • Checks content and analyses supplier and customer contracts, to ensure compliant and standardized contract management
  • Analyses and provides recommendation regarding capital expenditure proposals
  • Supports in the preparation of complex bids or tenders for project business (incl. software offerings)
  • Leads commercial contract negotiations
  • Initiates and coordinates mandate approvals as part of offer preparation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent).
  • Studying towards a professional degree, e.g. CIMA (advantageous)
  • 5–10 years’ experience in commercial finance or sales controlling, with exposure to tendering, contract negotiations, and complex project environments
  • History of direct and regular senior stakeholder engagement
  • Solid negotiation experience
  • Good understanding of legal, tax and cross-border business aspects in the project environment
  • Ability to work with AI and related tools (advantageous)
