What will you do?

As a member of the Automated Test Engineering team, your primary responsibility is to develop, maintain, and continuously improve automated test systems that ensure product quality and reliability. You will play a key role in supporting both ongoing production and project-based initiatives, contributing to the efficiency and robustness of manufacturing operations.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and NPI Engineering to integrate test solutions into new product introductions and existing workflows. This includes designing test strategies, implementing automated test scripts, and troubleshooting test-related issues to minimize downtime and enhance throughput.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Automated Test Equipment (ATE) strategies aligned with product and process needs.
  • Align test methods with Siemens Global Factory Network (GFN) best practices.
  • Deliver ATE test data to support production, quality, and engineering improvements.
  • Define and implement software and hardware standards for product test equipment.
  • Support team efforts to transition legacy VEE-based test systems to global NI TestStand platform.
  • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance plans for existing production test systems.
  • Manage procurement and inventory of spare parts for test equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the operation and maintenance of test equipment.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve automated testing issues, both hardware and software.
  • Continuously improve existing test equipment, fixtures, processes, and software.
  • Modify and maintain test equipment, processes, and fixtures to support evolving production needs.
  • Collect and analyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline is an asset.
  • 3 - 4 years of hands-on experience with electronic test equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in NI TestStand and LabVIEW programming for automated test development.
  • Knowledge in HP Agilent VEE programming for automated test development is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of C# programming for test system integration and automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and enhancing manual and automated test equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and work with electrical schematics and CAD documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong technical foundation.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach to internal and external interactions.
  • Capable of preparing and presenting technical information clearly and concisely.


Location: You will be required to work from the Peterborough location until such time as operational requirements necessitate your transition to the Concord location.
