Today, we are recruiting for a Test & Commissioning (T&C) Network Engineer to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What are my responsibilities?
- Write Tests procedures and test reports (interface tests, integration test) and follow the submission lifecycle
- Coordinate and supervise the execution of testing procedures, including functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and security testing.
- Assist in preparing test plans and system-level test procedures developed by the System T&C Team.
- Manage integration tests with support from Work Groups.
- Validate integrated tests, commission integrated equipment, and compile test reports.
- Review test progress and provide status updates to the T&C Manager.
- Monitor the status of assigned Lots on the Test List and coordinate changes to integrated tests with the Scheduling team.
- Ensure availability of equipment and trains required for scheduled Quality of Services tests.
- Identify and analyze network performance issues, troubleshoot technical problems, and propose solutions to maintain network performance and reliability.
- Support compliance with cybersecurity requirements and best practices.
- Attend weekly LOTs T&C meetings.
- Update and consolidate test configurations at the system level.
- Manage the daily test schedule according to constraints and priorities, process test schedule-booking requests, and inform the T&C Manager.
- Interface with all technical teams involved in the e-HSR project and coordinate with the TOT Team regarding technical queries for System Level Tests.
- Liaise with internal and external LOTs Engineering and Testing & Commissioning teams in support of the T&C team.
- Review and propose test boundaries and necessary protective measures.
- Ensure adherence to the latest technical documentation during System Level and System Integration tests.
- Prepare test reports, documentation, and technical specifications related to testing and commissioning.
- Maintain communication with all relevant internal and external parties.
- Coordinate closely with the ToT Interface Engineer.
- Ensure that planning for System Level testing and commissioning, as well as permit applications and access requests discussed in weekly planning meetings, follow the T&C sequence.
- Implement the procedures outlined in the track possession process, construction and commissioning rulebook, and commissioning manual.
- Coordinate with the TOT Interface Engineer to confirm train and staff availability for approved System Level test activities.
- Coordinate with Customer Service if failures are detected during the System Demonstration period.
- Follow safety rules and procedures to ensure compliance during site incident response implementation.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Graduate in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced certifications in network testing and cybersecurity will be advantageous.
- Proven experience in testing and commissioning railway multi-service networks, fiber optical backbones, and integration with WAN/LAN systems.
- Preferably 4 - 6 years of experience in Railway or Metro projects (Mainline /High Speed is a plus)
- Pro-active, confident, Safety focused and independent with self-starter attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, logical and troubleshoot thinking.
- Proficiency in English/Arabic (written and spoken)
- Good knowledge of MS Office application
- Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security concepts and best practices. (Fortinet firewall and security are a plus)
- Knowledge in Network Infrastructure (Nokia core network equipment is a plus)
- Knowledge in Static Test and Commissioning
- Knowledge in Safety Validation Process
- Knowledge in System Integration
