What will you do?
Master Production Scheduler (MPS) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure that production meets customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and production capacity utilization. This role is essential for balancing sales demand with manufacturing capacity, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Development and Maintenance of the Master Production Schedule (MPS):
• Create and maintain a short- and medium-term master production schedule aligned with the Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP) and demand forecasts.
• Translate demand forecasts into detailed production plans for finished goods and key subassemblies.
• Adjust the MPS based on changes in demand, supply disruptions, production capacity, and business priorities.

Capacity Management:
• Assess available production capacity (labor, machinery, materials) against MPS requirements.
• Identify and proactively communicate capacity constraints and potential bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with operations to develop mitigation plans or capacity adjustments.

Inventory Management:
• Set and maintain inventory targets for finished goods and key components, balancing service levels with cost optimization.
• Monitor inventory levels and take corrective actions to prevent excess or shortages.

Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Purchasing, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure alignment and execution of the plan.
• Clearly and promptly communicate MPS status, risks, and opportunities to relevant stakeholders.
• Actively participate in S&OP meetings.

Analysis and Continuous Improvement:
• Analyze plan performance (MPS adherence, inventory levels, capacity utilization) and identify improvement areas.
• Implement and optimize planning processes and tools.
• Contribute to the development of key planning metrics (KPIs).

Data Management:
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of master data relevant to planning in the ERP/MRP system.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP are highly valued.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain planning, or similar roles in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing master production schedules.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Siemens Opcenter, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced functions).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong results orientation and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
