Reports To: Team Lead. Project Procurement.

Job Summary: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the procurement activities for an electrical substation project, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services. The role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid stage support: Formulate and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective proposals for materials and services at project tendering stage and support bid team to increase success rate.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to secure the best terms.
  • Procurement Planning: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and develop a comprehensive procurement plan.
  • Contract Management: Prepare, review, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and legal requirements.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control procurement costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions and vendor performance issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and provide regular reports to senior management on procurement status and performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engg preferred), further certification in Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the electrification projects or Substation projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in procurement software (e RFQ, eBid, eAuction) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in managing procurement for electrical substation projects.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment and project execution.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical substations.
  • Experience in dealing with major equipment manufacturers & suppliers for Substation projects
