Position Overview


As the Global Automation & IT Business Development Director, this Individual Contributor role will report directly into the Head of Marketing Strategy & Business Development for Automation and Diagnostics IT within the Laboratory Diagnostics Business Area and requires strong collaboration with Global and country Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Service and Healthcare consulting. Responsibilities include business development and performance analysis, management of the forecast and funnel to Inpeco, supporting countries with their automation and diagnostics IT needs, ensuring they have country readiness and resources to win automation and IT deals.  Responsible for early identification of Complex Deals and involving Project Management to ensure contracts, expectations and execution timelines and KPI’s are correctly set.   The role has global accountability for business management with the goal to maintain and grow Siemens market share in Automation and Diagnostics IT.

  1. Analyze current state within Siemens Healthineers including human capital, structure and specific needs to ensure market share is maintained and grown.

  2. Analyze, maintain and optimize tools used to forecast and monitor country opportunities.

  3. Manage communication with stakeholders in regions/countries to achieve MTA forecast commitments, build bridges to Global and support business growth.

  4. Facilitate win-loss analysis and consolidate findings to identify gaps, trends and help improve sales effectiveness

  5. Analyze and address gaps to outperform global competition, ascertaining data and knowledge requirements and applying it to decisions on planning, programming, investments and resource requirements.

  6. Integrate Automation and IT strategy into Sales, Marketing and Service processes, driving the strength of the A3 winning strategy.

  7. Provide market and company performance analysis for various support functions within organization such as MT and PLM board meetings.

  8. Collaborate with Enterprise Services to align and delineate offerings and strengthen and increase LD input and influence

  9. Organize and facilitate Auto-IT summits to enable best practice sharing, business alignment and goal achievement

  10. Selectively support regions with strategic business development opportunities with key prospect customers

The primary focus is to ensure sales success through differentiation with customized Automation solutions and strong IT portfolio as measured by increased win rates, revenue growth or IT attach rates.


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience


  • Degree in Health Science, Engineering and/or Business Administration or at least 10 years of successful experience in a directly related field

  • Fully conversant with laboratory operations, terms and technologies in in-vitro diagnostic testing

  • Experience in global markets and collaboration across a matrixed organization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer focused

  • Strategy, planning and execution skills.

  • Understanding of data analytics and applications to commercial strategy.

  • Assertive, driven and able to influence, motivate and hold others accountable to achieve results
