TITLE:                               Senior Application Engineer

COMPANY:                      Siemens Industry, Inc.

DUTIES:                            Design and configure applications for customer projects using Toolbox II, SICAM 230 software, SICAM SCC software, DIGSI and/or SICAM PAS, that includes the constant communication with the customer, provision of all necessary documentations. Support colleagues and customers with the design, configuration and implementation of special hardware/software solutions for automation projects including RTUs and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI). Introduce new hardware/software solutions provided by headquarter in Germany/Austria. Support colleagues and/or customers when facing issues with end-of-life hardware/software. Provide training for customers and colleagues for hardware (RTU) and engineering tools. Provide technical support for proposal team. Close contact with Siemens headquarters in Germany and Austria to ensure fast and reliable support and information exchange AS. Interface to customer and other Siemens departments for design, configuration and solution questions. Support the development of new customer specific solutions for automation projects. Ensure the on-time delivery of goods, documentation and tracking costs and schedules.


REQUIREMENTS:         Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Must have 7 years of experience with the following skills: knowledge of Siemens Energy Automation Systems such as SICAM PAS/PQS, SIPROTEC 4 & 5, SICAM SCC, SICAM 230, SICAM A8000, AK3 and Toolbox II; knowledge of communication protocols commonly used in the Energy sector such as SNTP, DNP3.0 RTU/TCP, Profibus DP, Profinet, Modbus RTU/TCP, SNMP, OPC, IEC 61850 MMS/GOOSE/SV, IEC 60870-5-104 and PMU; knowledge of cybersecurity networks for substations; design of communication network systems for substations, wind power systems and power management systems; design and verification of electrical diagrams such as single line, three lines, DC/AC schematics and wiring diagrams; lead engineering skills in order to execute the project not only from the technical side but from the commercial as well including but not limited to scheduling, manufacturing and commissioning management for small projects; training skills for automation systems and substation communication protocols. Approximately 35% travel required. Telecommuting permitted.

OTHER:                             Wendell, NC.   40 hours/week; $127,879/year.
