Turbine Designer: CAD Modeler and Product Definer
The Turbine Design department in the Large Gas Turbine engineering division of Siemens Energy is seeking an experienced CAD modeler and product definer to support various engineering design needs and manufacturing support tasks.
Development of design solutions and concepts for turbine hot gas path components (turbine blading) using the available 3D CAD systems (Pro/E and Siemens NX) and in accordance with functional requirements, design specifications and guidelines
Assessment of designs under functional, manufacturing and cost considerations
Development of 3D geometry models, layouts and PMI or 2D drawings
Support of product design teams in advisory capacity for mechanical design issues (fit up and tolerance stacking) and product definition standards and best practices (GD&T)
Support of design tool development teams in advisory and validation capacity for CAD related features and functionalities of the design tools
Manage product definition data in SAP OPP and PLM TeamCenter: create Engineering Change Masters (ECM) to release new or revised product definition (3D CAD models and drawings) of gas turbine hot gas path parts; create and/or revise Materials Masters (MM) and Bills of Materials (BOM) for hot gas path parts in SAP OPP
Support the planning and execution of product definition tasks and manufacturing support efforts
Mentoring of less experienced colleagues
Required Knowledge/Skills, Experience, and Education
BS degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Aerospace Engineering or AS degree in a related technical field and equivalent work experience in product development and design
8+ years experience in power generation equipment design, manufacturing, and/or field service
5+ years experience in axial flow gas turbine design, manufacturing and/or field service
Expert level skills in 3D CAD systems Creo Elements/Pro and Siemens PLM Software NX with minimum of 5 years experience in 3D CAD solid modeling and generation of parametric NX solid models
Experience with PDM/PLM systems SAP OPP R/3 and Siemens PLM Software TeamCenter
Sound working knowledge of MS Office Applications
Self-started, organized and proactive attitude; self-motivated and team-oriented work ethic
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Good communication skills
