In this hands-on role, you will report to the District Service Manager in the FET District (Central Florida). This is a non-exempt direct contributor position responsible for providing Project Management, Field Service, and Technical Services for Siemens / Westinghouse combustion and steam turbine-generators and their associated auxiliary systems during planned and unplanned outages. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that working conditions are safe at all times.

  • Execute planned and unplanned outages as in either an overall project management role of floor engineer

  • Will be the Customer’s main point of contact at the site level

  • Lead daily status calls with external and internal customers

  • Continuous monitoring and updating of outage schedule and budgets.

  • Ensure that all Siemens Policies and Procedures are being followed during the execution of planned and unplanned outages.

  • Required to travel to US based planned and unplanned outages.

  • Have flexibility to work overtime based on workload and have the ability to work both independently and within a team environment with the ability to lead the team.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Minimum of 8-10  years as a mechanical field service engineer and/or commissioning engineer on combustion turbine-generators and associated auxiliary systems.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software particularly Excel and Word.

  • Ability to write and update schedules in Primavera and Microsoft Projects.

  • Ability to write detailed technical reports for engineering analysis and review.

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites with little to no advance notice.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to lead a crew of Craft Labor (Union and Non-Union) and interface with multiple levels of customer organization.

  • Good verbal communication skills with the ability to fluently speak, write, and read in English.

  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.

  • Up to 80% travel required, domestic USA and very limited international.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Previous field experience in the Power Generation or Oil and Gas Industries.

  • Client facing skills are a valuable plus.

  • Existing contacts within the Siemens CT Engineering organizations is beneficial.

  • Basic knowledge CT operations.

  • Basic knowledge of field balancing and vibration analysis is beneficial.

  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical disassembly and assembly, installation, and commissioning of Siemens/ Westinghouse combustion and steam turbine-generators and associated auxiliary systems including but not limited to:

    • Gas turbine

    • Generator

    • Exciter

    • Lube Oil

    • Fuel gas

    • Fuel oil

    • Water Injection

    • Control oil

    • Air Intake

    • Secondary Air

    • Instrument Air

    • Turning gear

    • Seal oil system

    • Closed cooling water
