Who we are:
Siemens Energy provides full time Turbine Generator System Engineering function for Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. We are closely integrated with Comanche Peak and have maintained on site offices at Comanche Peak since initial operation in the early 1990’s.
The Digital Controls System Engineer is based at our offices located directly at Comanche Peak and specializes in Digital Controls/I&C Systems Engineering.
You will be the systems engineer for turbine-generator digital control systems at a nuclear power plant providing support to operations, maintenance, engineering and other site organizations.
Your primary focus areas are turbine controls, voltage regulator controls, generator auxiliary systems digital controls as well as associated field devices.
You’ll perform engineering evaluations of systems, components, programs and processes.
You direct cost effective design inputs when required to improve plant, system or equipment performance.
You perform periodic walk downs and monitoring of equipment, recommend preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems.
You shall maintain compliance with standards, codes, and federal regulations applicable to equipment.
You’ll create reports, evaluations and recommendations in support of the above requirements.
You will acquire and maintain qualifications commensurate with job.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or similar required
8 - 10 years of Digital Controls/ I&C experience at power plants or equivalent required.
Good written and oral communication skills is a must.
You must have an expert understanding of cybersecurity measures and controls.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Systems Engineering experience preferred
Prior experience with Siemens T3000, WinCC, Teleperm XP, Simadyn D, Simatic S5 and S7 -95F and OM690 is desirable but not required
Digital programming knowledge preferred.
