The work frames in the development of robotic technologies for manufacturing and this includes design of robotic hardware and software with subsequent verification and validation. Robot capabilities should be enhanced by intelligent perception technology to show a more responsive behavior. Therefore, flexible deployment strategies for these features should be developed and tested.
In the scope of this development we would like to offer you an internship opportunity for implementing some of those virtualized software components in a collaborative robot coupled with a Siemens Linux programmable logic controller (PLC).The outcome of the internship will be the realization of a robotic pilot with the indicated elements.
Be part of the research team and work on implementing containers with different software components in a Linux PLC.
You support us with the integration of an intra-container communication, which is intended for robotic tasks.
The subsequent testing of the implemented containers with a real robot is a further part of your tasks.
We don’t need superheroes, just super minds.
You are a student in the field of Informatics, Mechatronics, Automation or a similar course of studies and you are required to complete a mandatory internship under university study regulations.
In-depth knowledge of the Linux operating system and the Docker Container is required.
You have basic knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System).
