Siemens Large Drives Applications (A Siemens Portfolio Company) engineers and produces heavy-duty electrical drive systems for medium and high voltage ranges: electrical motors, converters and generators. Additionally, we offer special large drives for ships, mines and rolling mills. Our digitalization expertise and outstanding service keeps the performance and availability of the drives always at the maximum.

For our team we’re on the hunt for an Apprenticeship Project Controller in our offices in Milan. You will be required to provide support for one or more project teams through providing comprehensive financial support and implementation of project management controls. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, reporting & analysis, business process improvement, and month end project settlement activities. This highly visible position requires regular interaction with internal and external customers as well as interactions with senior level staff members.

Main Tasks & Activities:

  • Prepare project costs calculations and documentation
  • Monitor and maintain contract funding / mod reconciliation as well as project budgets and overall
  • cost control
  • Prepare Estimate-At-Completion (EAC) and variance analysis [budget vs actual]
  • Provide accurate information to drive project profitability and other performance metrics trough ad hoc project reporting and analysis as required
  • Ensure timely and accurate project billings [Cost Plus, T&M, and FFP]
  • Track, reconcile and work to minimize project unbilled balances
  • Monitor and work to maximize project cash flow
  • Prepare risk and opportunity assessments; develop and execute plan to mitigate risks
  • Prepare detailed monthly project rolling forecasts
  • Support PRM preparation
  • Timely and accurate project settlement, prepare month end project journal entries
  • Assist with contract close out and incurred cost submissions
  • Preparation of monthly Forecast reporting and Budgeting process
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Ensure project accounting is compliant with Government accounting standards as well as
  • company policies and procedures
  • Apply defined business controls required to support company SOX, compliance, and level of
  • authority requirements
  • Interact with support teams including Corporate Accounting, IT, HR, Contracts, and Supply Chain
  • Management
  • Interact with HQ colleagues

Your Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Financial or related subjects
  • Knowledge of Accounting rules & Principles
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize work and multitask effectively
  • Ability to work well in both a team setting and independently
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and motivated to drive change and foster an
  • environment to help achieve business results
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management both orally and in written form
  • Advanced knowledge MS Office tools
  • SAP knowledge would be a plus
  • Proficient in English
