This is a role well suited to an ambitious
professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Design
Engineering Co-Op, you will be responsible for:
Research into software and hardware for machine learning and object detection related to medical ultrasound. Evaluating various object detection algorithms with the idea of modifying and enhancing them for ultrasound. Work with a senior analog designer to design, develop, implement, debug and test the algorithms.
This position is an opportunity to learn design and implementation techniques from a senior design engineer with 30+ years of experience in analog and system architecture design. The candidate will at times be expected to discover and use methods on their own. Experience with Python, neural networks, and machine learning preferred.
Required skills to have for the success of this role
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program (rising junior or senior) with a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Desired majors: computer science and electrical engineering or equivalent degree; experience with artificial intelligence, image processing and machine learning preferred
- Must be available to work 40 hours/week from September 2020 – March 2021; part-time availability possible based on candidate/academic schedule
Start date: September 2020; 6 month duration
