Outstation Manager - TRSP

Siemens Mobility are currently recruiting for an Outstations Manager for the Thameslink Rolling Stock Programme (TRSP). This role with be based out either of the Hornsey Traincare Facility in north London or Three Bridges depot in Crawley and will include travel to the other Outstation sites. The Outstations Manager will lead and direct the team to respond to daily operational requirements at outstations and nominated sites. You will also be responsible for achieving production and service targets including management of all activities and resources in a safe and professional manner.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Management of all resources including people, plant, material, tools, third party service support to meet the outstations operational requirements
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with the relevant maintenance instruction and Group Standards
  • Be responsible for the compliance and auditing of depot access agreements with third party suppliers
  • Demonstrate competence in all of the Siemens Management Standards and Siemens Leadership capabilities
  • Role Model behaviour and values consistent with Siemens Values, Siemens Rolling Stock Behavioural Partnership and Siemens Business Conduct Guidelines
  • Develop a high-performance culture with strong employee engagement using the Siemens People Management policies and tools
  • Implement learning and development solutions to develop talent and enhance capability in the team
  • Actively participate in our continuous improvement program and drive implementation with the team.
  • Continuously develop cross functional and departmental processes. Identify continuous improvement opportunities, create business cases, agree and manage any projects through to completion
  • Collaborate with customer to meet operational requirements
  • Monitor compliance to meet internal control procedures and take appropriate corrective action
  • Ensure awareness and understanding of Siemens compliance policies and ‘Tell Us’ ethos. Implement in areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure budget objectives are met and identify criteria for monitoring progress and measuring success
  • Support Commercial partner and Fleet Operations Director in creation and management of depot access agreements, where appropriate

What experience and qualifications will you require?

  • Relevant Engineering qualification at ONC level or above
  • Engineering experience, ideally from a Rolling Stock Maintenance background with strong fault-finding knowledge
  • Experience of People and Process Management gained in engineering environment
  • Leadership experience gained from managing small/medium sized teams
  • Contract and Commercial knowledge
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and techniques
  • Experience of health and safety management
