Specific Job Responsibilities:

The position will report to the VP of CS Service Business Management, NAM as a New Service Product Developer to facilitate the execution of new portfolio development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full project implementation life cycle, taking key portfolio initiatives and driving the organization to make the appropriate changes in workflow and infrastructure to support the successful roll-out of those initiatives.

The position will need to interact at all levels of the organization. Qualified candidate has experience working as a Product Manager or Project Manager supporting a large services organization. He/She will need experience running large strategic projects in a matrix organization, providing expert consulting advice, working with customers and designing and directing programs tied to the organization’s strategic objectives.  He/She will be working with senior management to recommend project scope, definition of schedule, budget and resource allocation.  A high level of collaboration, business acumen and strong execution skills are required. There will be routine interaction with business leadership and external partners, to ensure we are driving towards meeting our common targets. Strong computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project are required. 

 

Job Family Responsibilities:

Leads full scope of project plan responsibilities for most complex projects or programs. Designs strategic project/program opportunities. Leads project management activities (definition of schedule, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource allocation management) for most complex projects/programs. Provides functional or business practice leadership on most complex projects or programs. Designs continuous improvement opportunities. May cultivate client relationship and sales opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:

The role is responsible for overall coordination and serves as the point of escalation along with the appropriate Product Manager and Project Manager from the Operations organization. Establishes and manages processes supporting the Project Steering Committee, streamlining communications between internal managers, project sponsors and external partners empowering the committee to engage in meaningful and efficient debate of priorities and resource availability. Responsible for the establishment and management of the strategy for the project, a roadmap for development, and the long-term health of the product in partnership with the appropriate product/brand manager. Establish a project methodology incorporating structures, standards, processes, documentation and reporting which is agile, fits the needs of the project and puts emphasis on the quality of decision making and timely project delivery. In addition, responsibilities include: creating meeting and workshop agendas, facilitating the meetings and managing the on-going workflow, project plans and output from the meetings.

·       Responsible for product strategy and definition

·       Responsible for the definition and maintenance of the standards of project management and process.

·       Maintain and update the project management framework and disciplines necessary to support portfolio development.

·       Prepare status reports.

·       Record amount of time spent on project work and estimates to complete to evaluate project status and budget.

·       Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete.  

·       Assist and advise project sponsors, internal managers, project steering committee and external partners, and teams to the best use of project management disciplines and approaches within a fast-paced, high tech environment.

·       Develop positive relationships with project sponsors, internal managers, project steering committee and external partners, and teams to enable the PMO to provide support including facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects.

·       Assist with establishing PMO stakeholder management plan and implementation of the communication framework.

·       Act as a reference point for PMO queries and information and an advocate for best practices in project management.

·       Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels.

·       Understand the deliverables of internal and external PMO stakeholders and contribute to success through cooperative and collegial processes.

·       Contributes to the flow of communication within the team, by actively participating in team meetings.

·       Creates and manages change management process.


Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. PMI, Prince2 or lean SixSigma certification are an advantage.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. 

  • 6+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.  

  • Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.


Direction of Others:
Develops team members through mentoring and coaching in complex subjects.

Multiple function, worldwide inter-organizational, and external contacts.
