Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as POC Cardiac Marketing Lead, Asia Pacific Region, in the Point-of-Care Diagnostics Business. The POC business develops and sustains systems for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments for point of care and laboratory medical testing. 

Role objectives:

This is a varied and dynamic role supporting the sales and marketing communications organization in driving the Asia Pacific region adoption of an evolutionary new platform in the field of POC cardiac. The expectation is for our POC cardiac solution to be number one in majority of markets across the world in the coming 5 years.

Reporting to the POC Critical Care Franchise (Boston, MA USA), you will be based in USA to optimize real-time, face-to-face communication with the Global Leadership Team (Boston, MA USA) and the Asia Pacific POC Hub Head, but also expected to frequently travel to the region, supporting all six zones in Asia (China, Japan, Korea, India, South East Asia, and Australia) with a 75% China focus.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the annual marketing plan for our new Cardiac POC platform in Asia Pacific, focusing on China
  • Establish strategies and tactics to promote product into the assigned zones: China, Japan, Korea, India, South East Asia, and Australia
  • Create and capture the value proposition, develop tools and organize events, programs and symposia that engage physicians, labs, nurses, administrators, and the broader healthcare and governmental community
  • Collaborate with global MARCOM team (Boston, MA USA) to design and develop all collateral support material for internal (sales, clinical and marketing), as well as external customers (physicians, laboratorians, nurses, and allied health professionals) including brochures, slide presentations, etc. needed for training and promotional activities
  • Demonstrate an accommodating and problem-solving personality which demonstrates ‘Can-Do’ attitude with region, zone and country leads
  • Establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and other important stakeholders; identify and capture insights from physicians, healthcare professionals and national healthcare administrators/systems to drive product strategy and execution
  • Support the development of materials to be used in the medical education for clinicians, nurses and technicians together with the senior clinical manager
  • Develop and plan promotional campaigns, including direct mail, social media and advertising, where applicable
  • Support the development of pre and post marketing trials to further demonstrate the product’s utility
  • Analyze the effectiveness of promotional programs through analysis of sales trends, market shares and other key metrics, and manage the ROI of these programs
  • Monitor, report and counter tactics towards competitive activities, as-well-as, similar emerging technologies

  • Create ongoing communication, collaboration and cooperation not only within POC, but also across Lab Diagnostics, Imaging and Advanced Therapies – ‘Diamond of Care’ portfolio; providing exceptional marketing support for sales team as requested and always prepared for portfolio selling opportunities and driving profitability

Key requirements:

  • High level EQ and sincere team player, who can assimilate into all cultures - essential
  • Demonstrate capacity to lead cardiovascular medicine specific marketing plans and execute successfully in key markets
  • Highest level of business ethics
  • Position may require greater than ~80% travel
  • Expert proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Mandarin and English - essential
  • A strong self-starter who is competent creative, and flexible with a collaborative and results-oriented management style, notably in the cardiac POC/IVD arena
  • A passion for technology and innovation
  • POC expert, especially CVD biomarkers: mainly hs-cTn, BNP/NT-proBNP, D-dimer etc.
  • Comprehends and can confidently speak to the clinical value of ‘personalizing medicine’ via cardiac biomarkers: diagnosis, risk stratification, prognosis, and monitoring
  • Capable of working independently and functioning as part of an integrated team
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to energize and motivate people – ‘best-in-class’ aspiration
  • Comfortable in an international environment with first-hand, international experience
  • Based in USA

Required education / experience:

·        Minimum bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or health sciences, medical doctor and/or PhD is preferred. MBA essential.

·        Minimum 20+ years IVD/POC experience in China, especially cardiac (biomarkers), essential

·        Demonstrated ongoing and broad professional education

·        Strong communication and presentation skills are of great importance to deliver a complete message to a multicultural and diverse audience (board members, senior management, other employees, physicians, nurses and broader healthcare and administration professionals)

·        In depth knowledge of the cardiac biomarker AP marketplace, along with established legacy cardiology, emergency medicine, laboratory, and other disciplines key opinion leader relationships is a distinct advantage
