At Mendix, we are constantly improving and revamping key sections of our web properties, while also adding new content to reflect the continuous growth of the low-code platform we sell. Our development team has recently grown in size, and with that growth, we’ve realized that we need to formalize and revamp key areas within our development process.
As the Website Development Manager, you’ll lead our small website development team through that transformation and beyond. The successful candidate will function as a “player-coach”, managing the website development team within the larger Digital Marketing team while also contributing development work of your own.
•Manage the other developers on the team. Currently 2 full-time team members, with occasional contract help as well.
•Own the technical integrity of the website, QAing completed work and insuring a consistent level of quality
•Own all technical elements of our Wordpress website, which is hosted on WPEngine.
•Create and execute on a technical roadmap for the website, including componentization of the site build
•Lead the development side of major website initiatives that also involve the broader marketing team (i.e. a new website design or a mini-site devoted to a digital event)
•Lead web development team in an agile fashion, maintaining and grooming the team’s backlog as new work comes in
•Lead source control strategy and execution
•Improve system for managing and addressing site content update requests
•7+ years of experience in Web Development, with at least 2 years of that including people management
•Experience with people management
•Experience with managing and prioritizing projects
•Solid experience working with Wordpress and front-end development
•Experience with building a Wordpress site around Advanced Custom Fields
•Advanced source control knowledge
•Direct experience with WPEngine a plus
•Experience sourcing and hiring contract developers as needed
