Acquired by Siemens in 2018, Lightworks now form the Centre of Excellence for Visualization inside the Digital Industries Software division. With specialisms in 3D graphics, ray tracing, virtual reality, games engines and UI, the Lightworks team support advanced visualization usage across the world leading Siemens product design software range and directly with end users.

We expect that you will acquire a broad understanding of our products, their domains, and their application; have the confidence to express ideas as part of a creative, Agile team; have a clear and genuine interest in technological trends; and have the ability to meet deadlines and think creatively about solutions.
Design and implement high-quality, secure, and stable software that conforms to company coding standards and practices.
Collaborate with the product owners, support engineers and the content team to develop all aspects of the product experience from a technical perspective.
Identify technical issues and tackle sophisticated problems with innovative solutions.
Promote product quality throughout the product development lifecycle.
Develop broader and deeper domain knowledge over time.
Actively maintain skill set by keeping track of the latest innovations from the industry.
Maintain code, including troubleshooting, optimisation and debugging.
Skills and experience
We encourage applicants with different levels of experience who are hardworking and willing to learn and immerse themselves in the world of digital visualization.
Degree in a technical subject.
C++ experience or similar object-orientated language – preferably within a technical environment.
Strong analysis, design and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Inquisitive with passion for continuous learning.
Ability to understand complex technical problems.
It would be desirable if the candidate has experience in any of the following:
- 3D modelling packages.
- Knowledge of 3D geometry and algorithms / real-time technology (e.g. OpenGL) / graphics / ray tracing technology.
- Knowledge of other programming languages and a broad range of software development tools and processes.
- Understanding of current data structures, algorithms and methodologies, as well as software design techniques.
