Specific Requirements
This position can be located at a Siemens LD site.
• This position is in the Customer Services Service
Lifecycle Management Team, responsible for Service representation on new
product development teams in business area LD and support of commercial
products.
The SLM Engineer will work closely with development
and engineering teams to implement serviceability requirements in new
diagnostic product designs and commercial products.
• This position is a
member of a multi-functional team responsible for driving projects from
approval of the proposal through launch until product end of support.
Experience is required in the following areas: medical/diagnostic equipment, leading projects/teams, capabilities to coordinate completion of activities.
Experience is desired in the following areas: service/support
processes, project management, design for serviceability, product design change
support, and trending of data.
Responsibilities
The SLM Engineer is responsible for the definition and
deployment of serviceability strategies, for coordinating the development of
service documentation, training and field service strategies to the regional
service organizations.
The SLM Engineer will provide functional expertise,
related to service including application services and service documentation.
Support review of customer documentation and new product introductions to the
field. The SLM Engineer will provide functional expertise related to
hardware and software engineering changes, updates to service documentation,
and the release of product updates.
The SLM Engineer will lead and/or participate on
Service Element Teams in defining the Service concept, the service lifecycle
plan and will coordinate the knowledge transfer to other support groups and the
regions and countries.
The SLM Engineer
will lead Collaboration Teams to coordinate knowledge transfer to other service
groups and represent the service organization to LD.
The SLM Engineer will support Atellica Solution and future Atellica development projects.
The SLM Engineer will perform analysis of service metrics, parts usage,
trends, and service productivity.
The SLM Engineer will communicate project status and
issues to service management, identifying, assessing and manage project risk
from a service and application perspective.
Required
Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where
required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong
interpersonal and communication skills, a working knowledge of clinical
laboratory operations and workflow (pre and post analytical), data analysis and
interpretation, presentation skills, and experience with the operation of
various SIEMENS Healthcare instruments and middleware.
Knowledge of Atellica Solution operation and support is preferred.

Job Family Responsibilities:
The SLM Engineer guides very complex product support
to Customers remotely via all communication channels. Guides on-site and
in-house troubleshooting for very complex products and other related products
to Customers and develops programs to increase customer satisfaction. The SLM
Engineer guides the dissemination of very complex product knowledge. The SLM
Engineer guides the coordination for new product introductions as they relate
to Product Support. The SLM Engineer manages the product support
responsibilities for commercial products.
Education:
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in
some areas.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through
successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts,
practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates
knowledge of organization's business practices and issues. Typically 5-8 years
of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key
Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be
substituted for experience, where applicable.

Provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff.
