An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Business Administration of the portfolio unit “MRX” in the business unit “Customer Services” at Siemens Mobility to join the team in Perth, Western Australia. Reporting to the Business Unit CFO directly and in-country into the CFO of Siemens Mobility Ltd. Pty. This role has its main mission of implementing superior finance policies, guidelines, procedures for effective Business Administration, for a portfolio by governing the financial operation and support the Head of SMO CS MRX collaboratively for the local MRX organization and the related international business/entities.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Profound knowledge in PM@Siemens, Contract & Claim Management, LoA tool, Project relevant reporting tool (Roccit & ProjectDAsh), SAP knowledge including metrics

  • Clear and concise Communications presentation on Management level

  • High level of customer intimacy / Relationship Management

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the assigned Commercial project manager (CPM) / Business Administration organisation

  • Drive effective financial analysis, planning and controlling activities to ensure implementation of financial strategy, procedures, policies and guidelines including their process improvement initiatives

  • Oversee and ensures completion of all accounting, financial statements and reporting, and other finance related operations to provide explanation of financial reports to external auditors and internal stakeholders.

  • Plan financial performance and resource allocation including business targets, budget and rolling forecast

  • Drive project portfolio together with the business area or regional manager to ensure excellence in project execution and controlling. Jointly conduct business, financial and project reviews to manage the business and project financial performance

  • Support accountable business manager by providing advice and proposing measures to manage the overall business operation including Profit and Loss responsibility

  • Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities as well as strategies to create an effective contract and claim management in all relevant business cases (supplier, customer, service providers)

  • Collaborate during the preparation of complex bids or tenders for project business

  • Review and sign off contractual and legal terms and conditions of contracts, and the proposals in accordance with the signature authority guideline

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Professional experience 8-10 years in a financial/commercial management position, e.g. in controlling line function, senior commercial management or senior commercial project management

  • Commercial Finance Degree (Master/Diploma) and qualifications / certification in Commercial Project Management

  • Previous experience managing a team; this position will manage a team of 10 Commercial Project and Business Administration Managers with the respective reporting lines

  • Extended experience in

    • financial controlling and accounting,

    • contract and claim management

    • manufacturing and / or software development/engineering as well as

    • international business environments

  • Outstanding Leadership skills 

  • Advanced Financial Controlling

  • Advanced Project Commercial Management

  • Advanced Contract Negotiation and Claim Management
