What you will do for Siemens Smart
This entry-level position performs inspections associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment, including minor repairs, and visual and functional testing in accordance with all national and local standards.
- Assist higher-level inspectors with testing of fire pumps, wet systems, dry systems, tamper switches, water-flow devices, and hydrants.
- Assist with inspection, testing, and service of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems; standpipes; backflow preventors; fire hydrants; and fire pumps per NFPA 25 standards.
- Follow and maintain highly-structured inspection schedules.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites.
- Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site.
- Provide instructions to customer’s personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections; assist with training.
- Work overtime when needed.
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role.
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
- Experience in the Fire Life Safety or Fire Protection Industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must have good customer-facing and customer service skills
- Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States
- Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
