The Walpole Site Controller role in Siemens Healthineers Laboratory Diagnostics  has an end-to-end ownership of the financial, analytical, reporting process and compliance activities for the Operations in Walpole, MA and Elkhart, IN .Through best in class, data-driven analytics and leadership, this role will partner and/or lead cross-functional teams for strategic and tactical decision making; lead role in generating financial insights in the monthly/quarter consolidated site results, with focus on global operational and profitability targets as well executive summary and bridging results; as well as drive key strategic projects across the Laboratory Diagnostics reagent manufacturing network.

As a Walpole Manufacturing Site Senior Finance Director, you are an impactful business partner to the site head and leadership team and will be responsible for:

 Scope of responsibility:

  • Walpole Site Operations: Manufacturing cost:  200’ EUR, 100’ EUR Net Inventory
  • Walpole Finance team:   6 direct FTE,
  • Walpole Site: 550 FTE
  • Capex Forecasting

Specific responsibilities include:

*Drive and optimize financial process for large-scale Diagnostics manufacturing facilities in Walpole, MA & Elkhart, IN 

*Responsible for all manufacturing and supply chain financial processes and key member of management team with multiple product lines in large, global matrix organization

*Develop reporting process for actual, forecasting, and budgeting, while prioritizing deliverables and managing to deadlines.  

*Work closely with differing legal and organizational entities, in multiple currencies, for reliable cadence of reporting.  Own Budget and long-term financial plan for the Laboratory Diagnostics Walpole & Elkhart sites; lead and integrate best practices with Laboratory Diagnostics finance colleagues within and external to the SCM function (R&D, Procurement, Business Controlling) 

*Ownership and Monitoring of the standard costs and manufacturing variances. Provide key explanations on the deviations versus Budget, Forecast but also preparing mitigation plans in collaboration of the Walpole leadership team.

*Support tactical and strategic discussions and decision making for the Atellica & Central Lab product franchise including planning, business case analysis, product profitability analysis

*Actively contribute to cost reductions programs, productivity measures, manufacturing excellence, procurement initiatives and Transformation project in the site and across the network

*Contribute to implement Operational and Financial KPI’s and provide financial transparency

*Mentor and develop immediate staff, by providing the appropriate skill set and ways of working and act as mentor across Healthineers finance

*Act as central point to internal and external audit requests for manufacturing and supply chain financials, ensuring no material findings and clean compliance record in alignment with internal and IFRS requirements

*Create world class financial controlling capability in the organization, educating colleagues on best practices and IFRS controlling standards

*Collaborate and ensure controlling practices between Walpole, MA and Shanghai Site are aligned and optimized for product to be supplied by Walpole and sold in China

Required Education, Capabilities and Skills to have for the success of this role:

*Education: in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; MBA or equivalent

*Experience

*Mandatory Site controlling experience (5 years minimum) preferably in Healthcare or other relevant industries

*+10 years of progressive career in Finance Operations and other Finance functions

*Experience with international, matrixed organizations in supply chain/project role

*Experience in strategic projects, driving productivity, cost reductions and improvements at site

*Ability to summarize complex information multiple data sets for Leadership team

*SAP and Hyperion Financial Management, Power BI, Digital Tools

*IFRS / Tax

*P&L / Entrepreneurial responsibility

*Proven Organizational and Finance Leadership and ability to develop the Finance team

*Compliance / ERM / Internal controls / EHS / ECC

*Data Privacy / Cyber Security

*Language: local language English  

Competencies:

•Very good Business knowledge and knowledge of the organizational structure, the reporting structure & process and the budget and forecast process

•Ability to distill business processes and results into actionable information for senior leadership; very strong presentation skills

•Strong systems skill in SAP, expert Excel and PowerPoint capabilities

•Ability to analyze as well as an organizing and quality orientation is a main requirement for the controlling area. Arranging and balancing activities to comply with various tasks and due dates is also key requirement

•Knowledge and experience in project management, ability to drive Finance and operational projects and contribute to the Transformation. Strong attention to detail and strong analytical ability required

•Recognized Business Partner and very good communication and networking skills, result and quality orientation as well as a pro-active attitude

•Excellent team player; ability to manage horizontal teams and lead cross-functional efforts

Position reports directly to Vice President Finance, SCM Reagent Manufacturing

Key Working Relationships:

Cross-functional, inter-organizational and contact with Siemens functional groups at the Healthineers level, across multiple geographies and time zones.  Acts as advisor and change agent to top management and business partners on advanced business matters.
