WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
You will be a key player in the Agile scrum team that designs and develops the cloud capabilities of Simcenter Prescan as part of an integrated solution. This team has the mission to allow end users to exploit for Prescan the power of parallel simulation with cloud-based platforms. Currently we are targeting Microsoft Azure, but we also have plans to expand to Amazon Web Services and Tencent. Offering Prescan as a cloud-enabled product will allow our customers to run a massive number of ADAS simulations e.g. with various sensor parameters, weather conditions, or control algorithms. They can then optimize the design of the entire ADAS system using a smart tool set of reporting capabilities, and using other Siemens products like Simcenter HEEDS or Amesim.
In this role you will closely work with and guide other software engineers in your Agile scrum team to design and implement the product architecture to best support a specific cloud provider, or multiple providers where possible. To do so, you use your experience and knowledge about cloud architectures, implement new functionalities, use and expand your Object Oriented (OO) development skills, have a keen eye for high-quality software development techniques, and work with state-of-the-art tools to increase productivity and quality of our software. In many cases, discussions with customers will lead to new or specific requirements and features for their local deployment, and you will be involved in understanding and capturing, and delivering these.
SKILLS AND STRENGTHS NEEDED
- Proven track record in cloud-enabled product development.
- Outstanding experience of Microsoft Azure. MS Azure AZ-303, AZ-304 certificates are a plus
- Experience with guiding juniors and/or leading a project/team.
- Hands-on experience with Linux. Good knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and orchestrators like Kubernetes.
- Version control tools such as Git, GitLab, Mercurial.
- Knowledge and use of UML for architecture and design purposes, and of coding best practices. Working experience with the Atlassian toolsuite (i.e. Jira Agile, FishEye) or similar.
We can offer a great deal of flexibility with home working, and we are offering a market leading salary for this role.
