The Financial Analyst position will be part financial analyst, data analyst, and business analyst. This position provides a unique opportunity to proactively engage in multiple areas of focus. Through collaboration, analysis and communication, this position will contribute to meaningful business decisions.

The successful candidate will be: (1) a curious individual who can clarify an ambiguous request for information, (2) someone who can develop an in-depth understanding of company databases, (3) a person that enjoys meticulously sorting through details and synthesizing data, (4) someone that possesses a solid understanding of advanced modeling techniques and has the ability to perform strong root cause analysis, and (5) be able to clearly communicate results using a method which meet the needs of the end customer (e-mail, Excel, presentation, dashboard).

Responsibility Areas

Financial Analysis:  Support implementation and administration of sales incentive plans and provide guidance to senior management regarding financial impact of business decisions. Plan and model commission expense in collaboration with Sales executives, Finance and Human resources. Audit, analyze, forecast and provide insight into on-going programs to drive improved performance. Forecast quarterly and annual commission/bonus program expense.

Data Analysis:  Create complex financial models to provide insightful analysis for enhanced decision making capabilities. Gather data from multiple sources and develop models for analysis of various plan design options and review incentive payout calculations. Drive/recommend enhancements to sales databases to support metrics and reporting. Work closely with sales finance partners and IT to ensure a clean data set. Conduct regular audits for plan compliance. Assist with systems administration and development in collaboration with IT.

Communications:  Synthesize complex data into easily understood and compelling management reports or performance dashboards. Provide quota attainment reporting to sales management and sales agents. Act as a trusted advisor when creating presentation material.

Required Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience supporting a sales organization in a finance capacity
  • Strong analytical ability with experience coordinating complex decision-analysis
  • Aptitude to learn, work, trouble shoot issues, and multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic sales organization.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experiences with Business Objects, Callidus, Hyperion, Essbase, and PowerPoint
  • BA/BS in finance, accounting or related discipline.
