IT Systems Analyst – Llanberis, Wales

The role:

Siemens Healthineers are looking for an IT Systems Analyst to join their Reagent Manufacturing business based at the well-established and modern facility in Llanberis, located next to Snowdonia National Park. The facility manufactures and distributes reagents for in-vitro diagnostic medical devices used in hospitals worldwide to aid the diagnosis of medical conditions.

Reporting to the IT Business Partner Manager, the role will serve as the site’s single point of contact for both the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.  The role also requires the support and administration of software and hardware, including the setup and integration of technologies and providing technical advice across business functions. This position will also serve as a general technical support specialist for all applications.

Your mission and responsibilities:

  • Provide IT technical support for the site LIMS application
  • Develop and deliver standard reports using approved LIMS tools
  • Provide IT technical support for the site ERP system
  • Provide technical advice and assist with the implementation of new technologies
  • Develop technical procedures for the site in accordance with IT global strategies and regulations
  • Be a key part of the IT team in the support of IT Projects
  • Analyse complex IT systems, identify problems, and develop and implement logical conclusions and effective solutions
  • Be a key part of the business in support of the site digitization strategy
  • Assist with other duties outlined by the IT BP at Llanberis

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in a similar role preferred
  • ERP experience (SAP preferred)
  • LIMS experience (Sample Manager preferred)
  • Excellent working knowledge of SQL is essential, C# and Infomaker or similar reporting tools is an advantage
  • Degree in an IT related subject or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in providing technical support
  • Ability to perform under pressure with accuracy and speed to meet important deadlines
  • Demonstrate integrity and ingenuity in the performance of assigned tasks
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of database structure with the ability to enter, manipulate, export and report on data
  • Perform time management and scheduling functions, meet deadlines in accordance with business priorities
  • Must possess positive, professional interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a regulated environment with a core appreciation of FDA regulations is a distinct advantage
  • Experience in working with and managing IT vendors is a distinct advantage

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent ability in querying and analysing data using SQL
  • Understanding of Server and PC operating systems and software
  • Installation, operating, maintenance and repair of operating systems, networks and applications
  • Network system and data flow theory and design
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • MS Power platform and MS 365

Language and communication skills:

  • Ability to compose, read, interpret and edit complex documents and correspondence
  • Communicate positively, professionally and effectively to all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing

Reasoning Abilities:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to specifications
