This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Test Automation intern, you will be responsible for:

Position Overview:

This position is with the System Test Engineering Team and focuses on development of

automation tests for the system requirements/functionality.


Under the supervision of your functional manager and test engineering mentors you will support test automation development activities including the following:

  • Gain understanding of the PET/CT scanner, how it works, and understand the system functionality
  • Work with development and system test teams to understand the requirements/functionality to create automated tests
  • Develop and maintain the automation Test suite for Scanner products
  • Execute automation tests and provide feedback to the stakeholders
  • Submit defect reports and validate defect solutions


Required Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience:

  • A genuine passion for software development demonstrated through past projects
  • Knowledge of a few programming languages including C#, Python
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform work of high difficulty in designing, writing, editing, modifying, testing and debugging test automation software
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Must be local to the Knoxville, TN office (50 miles or less); no relocation/housing stipend will be offered for this position
  • Must feel comfortable going onsite into office and follow site COVID-19 protocol.
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor program (rising senior) majoring in an engineering discipline
  • Must be available to work full-time (up to 40 hours/week) during summer 2021

Start date: May 2021; 3-month duration.
