Our Siemens ITS business is offering a number of exciting opportunities to join a newly forming team who are responsible for ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) asset management and maintenance services in the Sydney Road Asset Performance Contract (SRAPc) River Zone.
We are looking for six ITS Technician in the Rydalmere area of Sydney, NSW. The ITS Technician is an electrically qualified role with the front-line responsibility for preventative and reactive maintenance of a diverse range of ITS Assets including Traffic Control Signals, Variable Message signs and a wide range of specialist ITS systems.
Key responsibilities, but not limited are:
·Complex fault diagnosis, periodic inspections, routine, and corrective maintenance of ITS
assets, such as Traffic Control Signals (TCS), Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Hazard
warning signs (AWS, VSLS) etc.
·Electrical testing of ITS assets.
·Preparation of equipment prior to final installation e.g. Traffic Signal Controllers or vehicle
·Commissioning of ITS assets.
·Standby roster responsibility for emergency repairs and out of hours working to support
service and installation requirements.
·Installation or modification of new and existing ITS assets.
·Successful completion of mandatory technical or safety related training.
·Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when
necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training.
·Liaising with customers and other contractors that may be on site.
·Ensuring works are completed in accordance with the site specification, in a timely manner
and to a high-quality level.
·Conduct yourself in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, all employees
have a duty to comply with all Health and Safety Procedures and to be alert in identifying
potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible
·Any other duties reasonably requested within the skills required for the role
Skills & Experience:
·Experience in ITS and Field Service maintenance roles is an advantage.
·Traffic signal fundamentals and TfNSW SPECIFICATION D&C TS101.
·Transport for New South Wales (RMS) ITS standards/specifications.
·Knowledge of ITS and traffic signal products from across the industry.
·High level of communication skills, both verbal and written, will be necessary as you will be
expected to liaise with other parts of the business and with customers.
·Ability to achieve objectives with strict deadlines and manage your own workload.
·NSW Electrical licence holder .
·Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Electrical installation, AS/NZS 3017 Electrical installations,
AS/NZS 3019 Electrical installations would be desirable.
·White card, and ideally First aid / CPR; preferrable.
·Must hold full Australian (or equivalent approved) Driving License
·Available to work 24/7 rotating rostered shift patterns to provide comprehensive service
coverage for our customers during peak transportation times (Monday – Friday) with additional
on-call duties at weekends as required.
