Tax Specialist

Job Description

Job responsibilities

  • Perform monthly tax accounting (corporate income tax & deferred tax provision)
  • Perform tax compliance work (corporate income tax return, WHT filing, GST return, FBT return, etc.) for entities within ASP region.
  • Perform tax-related journal voucher posting and tax accounts reconciliation.
  • Preparation of local transfer pricing documentation for entities within ASP region 
  • Ad-hoc tax projects as needed (e.g. tax audit preparation, process improvement, new tax implementation, etc)
  • Liaison with colleagues from various departments, in-house customer (i.e. local tax team), external tax consultants and tax authorities in a respectful and professional manner.  

Qualification and Skills

  • A recognized Degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance/Tax
  • Minimum of 4-6 years working experience in in-house tax department / tax shared services of MNCs or Big4/ mid-size accounting firm
  • Working experience in corporate tax compliance and general knowledge in other tax areas (e.g. tax accounting, WHT, GST/VAT/SST, transfer pricing, etc) is required
  • Knowledge or experience in foreign tax compliance in ASP region (particularly Australian, New Zealand or Singapore) will be an added advantage
  • Preferably experience working in SAP system or other major ERP system.
  • Good English language proficiency, both verbal and written
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.  
  • Strong numerical and data analytical skills with high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines and complete task efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to work independently on the given portfolio in a supportive environment.
