Do you have a Computer Science or PLM software background? Do you have a talent for learning and explaining complex software administration tasks simply? If yes, consider a career as an Information Developer (technical writer) for Siemens’ suite of Teamcenter administration tools.
Teamcenter is a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform that manages the design and manufacture of a wide range of products from Mars rovers to golf clubs. It manages the lifecycles of such diverse products by being highly configurable. Each customer configures our software to implement their unique business processes. This adaptability presents administrators with a wide range of configuration scenarios and an array of intersecting tasks. The power of Teamcenter is that it looks and behaves differently for every customer.
As an Information Developer, your job is to ensure administrators understand how to configure Teamcenter to achieve their specific business goals. Your ability to clearly explain the real-world purposes behind complex choices is critical to their success. Our global development staff and customer service teams are your partners in this endeavor. Other responsibilities include creating examples, illustrating flows, documenting procedures, and designing reference material that enables administrators to successfully deploy our products.
Required Knowledge/Skills and Experience
One or more of the following:
- Highly technical writing experience
- PLM software industry knowledge, or experience working with a PLM system
Our ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Outstanding investigative research skills
- Proven project management experience
- BS in a technical discipline (such as Computer Science, Engineering), BA in Communications, or commensurate experience
