This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Director of Materials Management, you will be responsible for:

  • You will be leading the Production Planning, Direct Material Procurement, Warehousing, and Inventory Control functions with a team of approximately 60 supply chain personnel with at least 4 direct reports.
  • In your activities you will be responsible for all production planning, material sourcing & staging and logistics pacing all production activity for the Glasgow Plant operations that manufactures over 800 finished good products and 2500+ intermediates.
  • Ensures on-time delivery of product to our primary distribution centers, ensure proper inventory levels of raw material and in-process inventory to accomplish this; directs contract negotiations for goods, services, suppliers, equipment related to materials, transportation and storage; monitors contractual obligations for compliance and the evaluation of vendor performance.
  • You will be a member of the Plant’s Consumable Leadership Team to ensure proper coordination of the different Manufacturing functions producing our Diagnostic Testing Products.

  • Develops and manages departmental budgets and/or business plans for a small to mid-size department or business unit.
  • You will be expected to enhance and develop KPI’s to measure the plant’s supply performance
  • You will be working with our latest production planning technology (SAP, Demand Solutions, Power BI) and evaluating new software & reporting solutions to drive performance
  • You will be leading initiatives to improve supply delivery & improved production synchronization to ensure efficient coordination of materials and resources used in manufacturing process
  • Acts as an advisor that troubleshoots and resolves extremely complex problems within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas.
  • Analyzes effectiveness of policies and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs to ensure alignment with Plant and Strategic goals of the company.
  • You have very good presentation skills, you show team orientation, communication skills, and internal and external customer orientation

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 10+ years leading teams for Materials Management/Production Planning; including experience in regulated healthcare consumables industry.
  • ASCM/APICS Certifications: CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, &/or CPPM
  • Well versed in the use of SAP or equivalent ERP/MRP systems and reporting tools for managing production, procurement, and inventory management
