We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior ETCS Engineer to join our Siemens Mobility team to work on Rail Systems Projects across the region. Based in our Brisbane Office, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an area of the Siemens business that has immense market potential. 

The Senior ETCS Engineer will be very experienced in European Train Control Systems design, implementation, and integration. They will follow established ETCS Engineering practices and processes throughout the Project Lifecycle delivering the required outcomes for quality, cost and schedule.

Main accountabilities will include:

·         Guarantee the delivery of medium and complex designs (HW, SW, functional and configuration design production check)

·         Deep knowledge of industry standards (e.g., CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC, etc.) and company standard solutions

·         Responsible for producing design documentation including system requirements and architecture, interface control, scheme plans, control tables, block design, and analyses as needed

·         Making sure design compliance is achieved through requirement traceability

·         Making sure the design documents produced are issued and controlled per company processes

·         Participating in or leading reviews to detect: Design errors; Process and tool inefficiencies; and Making sure corrective actions or improvements are implemented

·         Guarantee the analysis of V&V feedback and site tests


·         Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Computer Engineering Qualifications

Skills & Experience:

·         From 5+ years Signal or ETCS Design Engineer knowledge in rail projects

·         Background of Communication system design and delivery, integrating into a Rail Signaling system

·         Experience in delivering engineering activities for complex signalling systems

·         Project Management

·         Demonstrated effective team and communication skills
