This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • You will develop user manuals, technical instructions, online help, software release notes, and other technical publications for analyzers and automation systems.
  • You will research technical and engineering information, including drawings, design and test specifications, and product prototypes, and interview subject matter experts to develop content.
  • You will participate in project teams and software element teams representing the product labeling function.
  • You will produce labeling plans, schedules, resource requirements, and translation budgets for projects.
  • You will prepare reports, communicate timely status, and manage all aspects of labeling projects from start to completion.

  • You have expert level knowledge and skills with Adobe FrameMaker, as well as user level experience with DITA XML and/or content management systems.
  • You have 7–10 years of technical writing experience in a related field with a BS/BA in a related discipline or an advanced degree.
  • You can effectively synthesize complex technical information to provide easy to understand instructions for a defined end user profile.
  • You have experience working in an Agile environment and participating on scrum teams.
  • You have project leadership and/or project management experience with solid planning and organizational skills, and a proven record of managing complex projects and meeting deadlines.
  • You are highly organized, self-sufficient, and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • You have experience working in the health diagnostics field or other highly regulated industry.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • You have expert level knowledge and skills with Adobe FrameMaker, as well as user level experience with DITA XML and/or content management systems.
  • You have solid MS Office and MS Project skills.
  • You have experience managing translation projects or writing in English for localization.
  • You have the written and verbal communication skills necessary to function effectively within project teams and in a cross-functional environment.
