What will you do?

  • Commission and test a highly complex and large-scale automated Material Handling System (MHS).
  • Perform day to day on site IT/Network commissioning activities
  • Execute onsite tests with test teams and customer
  • Support the Integration Team as required
  • Support of software standardization platform
  • Commissioning phase (together with internal engineers)
    • Train on the job (VarioSC system and OCR/VCS system)
    • Check the installed IT hardware and the network
    • Support some IT smoke test
    • Support connection tests to the sub system controls
    • Execute first tests with sub system controls
    • Analyze the test runs, check the tracking dialog, statistics, trace files (logs)
    • Install software (new versions, patches)
  • Integration Phase (together with internal engineers)
    • Support the integration team
    • Change, load sort plans for tests
    • Execute own tests
    • Analyze the test runs, check the tracking dialog, statistics, trace files (logs)
    • Find potential errors / oddities
    • Report errors to the development team via JIRA (error tracking tool)
    • Install software (new versions, patches)
  • Operation / Ramp up Phase (standalone)
    • support the control room

 What will you need to succeed?

  • Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commissioning complex IT warehouse/parcel solutions
  • Good knowledge of:
    • HPE Server hardware
    • Network architectures
    • Microsoft Server Operating System, Hyper-V architectures
    • Oracle database (19c)
    • Oracle WebLogic administration
    • Communication to PLCs and host systems
  • Motivation to familiarize yourself with the functioning of complex SW systems
  • SCADA systems and network knowledge.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a track record of working effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English as well as proven success presenting ideas to vendors, associates, and customers.
  • A can-do attitude, self-starter and ability to thrive in a multi-cultural team.
  • A self-confident team player who is comfortable dealing with people at all levels in an organization and who can cross corporate boundaries. Capable of operating in an environment containing ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Willing and able to travel is necessary, plus ability to work irregular hours as required.
