Trainer Lead - 2nd Shift, Southaven, MS

Position Overview:

The Training Lead is responsible for delivering instruction and training in warehouse and forklift skills that will prepare Warehouse Operators and Warehouse Assistants for employment in the areas of warehousing/distribution center operations and logistics. A Training Lead is responsible for successful development of skills, knowledge, and attitudes commensurate to the goals of the Distribution Center and effectively using training materials and equipment to meet company goals.   The Training Lead is responsible for delivering capable and prepared employees to the Distribution Center Team.   Training can include but is not limited to: Company policies; warehouse SOPs including receiving, put away, shipping and packing; quality; safety; business systems, work readiness, employment skills, computers and hand-held RF Scanners, forklift, and other equipment operating instructions. The Training Lead identifies ways to improve the training program to support facility objectives and provides reports and feedback to management for the purpose of adjusting the program to meet ever changing business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small class training sessions of typically 10-12 students per session
  • Present a positive personal, and professional company image always while interacting with other associates.
  • Provide refresher training in all areas as needed.  
  • Assist in the development and maintaining of course curriculum including course descriptions, outlines, lesson plans, exams and keys, and classroom material.
  • Maintain training records including courses performed, course and instructor evaluations, and training documentation delivered.
  • Training associates to become Certified Forklift Operators.
  • Follow a training curriculum and timeline to complete training on schedule.
  • A safety-first mentality
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and cleanliness of the work area
  • Establish and maintain a forklift certification.
  • Support tasks such as Picking, Packing/Auditing, Loading, Replenishment, Cycle Counting, and Receiving/Put-a-way functions.
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable level of efficiency, quality and be an engaged member of the team.

Qualifications

  • One to two years’ experience as a Technical Trainer/Instructor with good presentation skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required.   
  • Understanding of warehouse management in accordance to SOP’s
  • Forklift & Material Handling experience required
  • Experience working in a distribution center or large retail operation.
  • Stand Up Counterbalance Dock Stocker Truck experience.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated and a great teammate; must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.
  • Must be able to use Power Point and Excel programs and be able to develop system presentations using Power Point.
  • Basic Laptop and Software skills
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Keep and Maintain a Forklift certification.
