The Business Development Manager F&B SCADA is responsible for close co-operation with the F&B Vertical Sales team in targeting specific accounts and developing and implementing strategic growth plans.  The role is also responsible for allocating business unit resources in support of SCADA opportunities, and acts in a promotional capacity in the accounts. 

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a strong and innovative team to build on the success of the SCADA business and help it to grow within the F&B Vertical well into the future. Siemens is market leader in Factory Automation in the UK&I and we have the opportunity to enhance our value proposition to both existing and new customers.

This a sales role supporting the Factory Automation Digitalisation team reporting into the Business Manager and is flexible in terms of the base location. The target markets cover the UK and Ireland so travel is required. There is an opportunity for wider international travel for HQ meetings and customer events.

• Part of a Business Development team for SCADA solutions in the UK&I market for WinCC Professional, WinCC Unified, WinCC V7, Braumat and Energy Manager Pro.
• Develops innovative approaches to migrating legacy and competitor SCADA customers to the WinCC platform
• Educates sales team and channels to multiply efforts
• Actively participates in account planning sessions in cooperation with the local sales and technical resources on strategic opportunities
• Provides customers and account representatives with strategy and solution advice and support during pre-sales discussions on SCADA solutions
• Develops and presents SCADA solution proposals, including estimating, compiling bill of materials, system architecture diagrams and RFP/RFQ responses.

 
  
We don’t need superheroes, just super minds. 

• Knowledge and experience of Automation technology and in particular SCADA solutions
• A broad understanding of the Food and Beverage market in the UK&I with demonstrated success winning new business
• A good understanding of operational drivers such as OEE, Energy Reduction and operational efficiency.
• An understanding of strategic business development  techniques
• Proven experience of developing major business opportunities into long term customers
• An understanding of horizontal and vertical and OT/IT integration
• Self starter, with motivation and drive to build a business with significant growth expectations
• Adaptability and flexibility
• In depth SCADA knowledge with Siemens and/or competitor products and a broad understanding of wider OT/IT concepts such as networking, cyber security and software lifecycles.
• The ideal candidate is a Sales Professional with a technical background that possesses in-depth knowledge of the industrial automation market: 
• customer challenges, pain-points and decision processes
• Siemens and competitors products and their target markets
• Value based and insight selling
• Commercial acumen for value generation, business cases and ROI
• Industrial automation selling process
• Proven F&B experience
• Communication is a key aspect of this role – verbal and written. Presentation skills are required both in delivering presentations, but also in developing standardised presentations and tools for use by the sales community. 
• Minimum of HNC / HND in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering or computer science
• Demonstrable experience in automation/software systems and demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.
