Simcenter STAR-CCM+ is a multiphysics computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software for the simulation of products operating under real-world conditions. Simcenter STAR-CCM+ uniquely brings automated design exploration and optimization to the CFD simulation toolkit of every engineer.The single integrated environment includes everything from CAD, automated meshing, multiphysics CFD, sophisticated postprocessing, and design exploration. This allows engineers to efficiently explore the entire design space to make better design decisions faster.

We are seeking a meshing development intern to contribute to an ongoing software project applying artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning methods to problems relating to geometry, meshing and shape recognition. Intern will be placed with a team of engineers highly experienced in mesh generation with a project portfolio spanning a diverse array of physical problems.

Ideal candidate will have experience with geometry, meshing, and machine learning algorithms, knowledge of linear algebra strongly preferred. In addition, we’re seeking candidates with an inclination toward research and development.

You will get the opportunity to:

  • Develop software (primarily in C++ and Python)
  • Evaluate algorithms and tests different solutions

  • Contribute your own novel solutions and approaches


  • Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Scientific Visualization, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Science, Computer Science or a related field
  • Past experience with meshing or geometry
  • Experience with AI and machine learning algorithms
  • Knowledge of linear algebra
  • Knowledge of Java, C++, Python or equivalent programming language
  • Experience working on both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Genuine interest in the simulation of real-world engineering problems using computational methods
