This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Biochemist I, you will be responsible for:

  • In your activities you will work in a laboratory environment with insect cell lines and bacterial systems to produce recombinant proteins in bioreactor, shaker, and spinner cultures
  • You will coordinate duties with departmental staff to support complex work schedules
  • You will characterize and evaluate culture system performance using various techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, cell counting, and microscopy
  • You will manage multiple time-dependent operations, and contribute to team results
  • You will work in GLP and cGMP manufacturing environment adhering to agreed standards with strong attention to detail and crisp verbal and written communication skills

  • You have experience in cell culturing in bacterial and insect cell systems
  • You have good knowledge in the technical field of using bioreactor and shaker systems
  • You have experience in immunoblotting techniques such as SDS-PAGE and Western blotting
  • You have good PC skills (MS Office software) and have the ability to prepare graphs and charts to compile, analyze, interpret results, and maintain concise laboratory records
  • You will be interacting with multiple departments and cross training with other groups and therefore you are willing to learn new techniques and contribute to process improvement
  • You are familiar with established Quality and EHS standards and willingness to adhere to these guidelines

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related fields
  • Strong background in Molecular Biology and Cell Culturing techniques with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
