Business Unit Head. Distribution System Business Unit

Business Strategy

Sets and achieves business unit (BU) strategy, business goals and budget target, defines offering portfolio and market segmentation, profitable growth of business volume, Business target agreement profitability and market share in agreement with the BU strategy.

Business Target

Responsibility of the profit and loss of the BU on the basis of the business target agreement (BTA). Initiates and directs measure and action for the region to enable and support achievement of BTA by Sales and (vertical) Marketing Support, Process Management and Tools.

Processes

Adaption and implementation of the BU processes for the Sales, project execution. Defines and ensures standards for BU offering (bids).

General Management

Leads and directs BU measures and actions to ensure qualification of Services and Sales know-how of BU products, system and solutions. Leads Product Portfolio Management, Quality Management, Project Execution, Marketing and Business Development to improve organizational performance (business excellence).

Value Chain Management

Defines and optimizes the value chain and the products/system/solution portfolio in alignment with the global BU portfolio.

Leading and Monitoring

Effectively work through others in order to accomplish objectives or fulfill responsibilities; has continuous dialogue especially with the branches to form a common understanding and to ensure full impact of measures. Has an organized approach to check on the progress of tasks and projects, steps in when necessary to regain control.

Market Research

Drives innovation and market performance by continuous surveillance of market development based on comprehensive market intelligence data to secure and enable long term customer value. Continuous monitoring of the market price (internal and external) and negotiates prices with internal suppliers.

Budgeting and Controlling

Sets volume-, cost-, and profit-budget for the BU. Directs and supervises realization (controlling). 

Management & Delegation

Effectively manages individuals, functions and teams. Creates successful cross-functional/ cross-national teams or strategic alliance. Effectively delegates responsibility and/or subordinates with clear guidelines and directions. Obtains high performance from employee by developing a strong sense of professionalism, accountability and pride within the BU.

Customer Relationship

Supports the branches on major customer and projects. Establishes long-term business relationship, key account management and vertical market activities.

Reporting structure

In country manager: Smart Infrastructure Country Management

Functional reporting: Lead Country Business Unit Head

Required Education /other required Experience

Strong financial & strategic skills and experience in managing a P&L.

Bachelor’s degree in the relevant expertise/technical competencies. Ideally, electrical engineering degree or comparable.

Strong Sales and account management background, ideally paired with sound project management skills

Solution and Service experience would be beneficial.

Capable to guide team members to pursue common goals and to influence subordinates and peers with ideas and solutions.

Experience in working in a multicultural organization and staff. Able to communicate and interact with different levels of people. Understanding of different behaviors and ability to react/adapt  to changing environments.
