Work under the supervision of a Senior Energy Engineer to perform the following functions:
Perform Utility Data Analysis by entering utility billing information, understanding the information contained on the bills, and having the ability to analyze this information vs. accepted standards.
Perform preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify facility improvement measures (FIMs). Participate in facility site visits using observational skills to collect required data to perform engineering calculations. Analyzes blue prints in conjunction with site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and determine facility operational characteristics and potential FIMs to be investigated.
Install metering equipment to gather true equipment usage information when necessary.
Perform basic energy savings calculations, making educated assumptions when applicable and using / interpreting data gathered from the field to estimate savings.
Has the ability to present design concepts to others for budget pricing development.
Develops design concepts and other written technical documentation to sales, management, and funding agency’s concerning recommended FIMs, including accurate descriptions, savings potential, and back up data to verify FIMs.
Prepares the application for governmental incentive funds, coordinates with associated consultants, and develops all documentation for final incentive collection.
Assist in the development of preliminary and final performance contracting proposals.
Assist in the development of performance contracting contracts utilizing standard templates incorporating FIM’s selected.
Independently coordinates and leads facility site visits and communicates with outside subcontractors as it pertains to FIM calculations and documentation.
Prepares financial models related to payment utilizing savings and costs determined, with an understanding of ROI, life cycle costing and internal rate of return.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field. Masters degree preferred
• Experience in Energy – 5+ years
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required or ability to obtain
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• MS Office Application Package: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project
• AutoCAD is a plus
• HVAC systems knowledge
• Temperature controls knowledge for efficiency improvement
• Able to use industry tools
