The Strategic Development function of Financial Services (SFS) is responsible for SFS’ Strategy, Investments and Transaction Advisory, Business Model Innovation, Sales Excellence and Sustainability. The Senior Manager Sustainability (f/m/d) will be an exceptional candidate who will directly shape SFS’ future. Together with the Head of Strategic Development (SFS SD) and the Head of Sustainability (SFS SD SU), this manager will directly support development and implementation of the global sustainability program of SFS and lead global sustainability projects.

What part will you play?
  • Develop and shape SFS’ global sustainability strategy and support the SFS Business Units on sustainability related projects and initiatives
  • Actively drive and further develop the SFS sustainability program in close alignment with SFS’ Business Units and Siemens corporate departments
  • Holistic contribution in developing internal and external ESG reporting processes
  • Actively support the Business Units in implementing and further developing risk management processes covering sustainability related risks
  • Actively support the Business Units in identifying and developing new business models and financing products in context of sustainability 
  • Self-directed management and coordination of SFS’ contribution towards Siemens-wide sustainability initiatives (e.g. preparation of the Siemens Sustainability Report)
  • Preparation of market intelligence activities identifying current market developments and analyzing competitor activities in context of sustainability
  • Actively support in the preparation of SFS internal trainings and communication concepts in context of sustainability 
  • Self-directed leadership of entire projects or subprojects
  • Autonomous preparation of ad-hoc assignments for the Executive Management of SFS, the Siemens Sustainability Office and the leadership team of financial services 
What you need to make real what matters.
  • University degree, focus on sustainability and finance desired 
  • MBA, CFA, Ph.D. or similar professional qualification would be considered a plus 
  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in the area of sustainability or alternatively at a top-management or Big Four consulting firm with focus on sustainability or financial services
  • Preferably in-depth expertise in one of the following areas: 
    • Sustainability strategy development and implementation of sustainability concepts and tools
    • Exceptional understanding of the market and competitor developments as well as business models in the area of sustainability 
    • Understanding of ESG reporting standards and ideally experience in the development and implementation of ESG reporting processes
    • Experience in driving and executing sustainability programs and initiatives
    • Experience at a financial institution in the field of Origination, Risk Management, Controlling or Accounting
  • Demonstrated project-management expertise and experience in managing cross-functional projects and workstreams with international teams. 
  • Intercultural experience gained in months-long stays abroad during studies or career 
  • An excellent command of English and German, verbal and written
  • Important soft skills: Initiative – strategic thinking – creativity – a focus on implementation and result – analytical ability –communication skills – team player
