What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure:
  • With limited direction from your supervisor, you will conduct preventive maintenance, repair, replacement, upgrades, adjustments, installation, commissioning and servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting).
  • You will be responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site customer interaction. Using a high level of technical competence, you will mentor control technicians, service technicians and mechanical technicians on building automation activities.
  • You will also be responsible for completing required project and service documentation. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair complex electronic control system malfunctions. Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings.
  • Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or repairs. Promotes the sale of add-on work. Manages assigned work to meet professional execution, of time and customer satisfaction. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities. May provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs.
  • Mentors and trains mechanical workforce on building automation systems. Provides support to the mechanical staff on non-complex, non-critical equipment. Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

  • Required education: High school diploma or state-recognized GED required. Completion of AAS Preferred.
  • Proven experience: 7 + years increasingly responsible experience in installing and servicing electronic control and HVAC equipment.
  • Proven extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications to systems software in multiple languages.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing computer programs and software applications as related to the HVAC Industry.
  • Skilled in programming, job start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting complex projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols such as LON, BACNet, N2, Modbus, etc.
  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.
  • Must be able to use hand-tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet and be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
  • Individual must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
