What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure:
This position performs network alignment, troubleshooting and configuration for commercial security and video systems. This role provides support, service, and maintenance, ensuring that all high-end network and head end systems and components are operational, updated, tested and maintained according to the operational requirements of the manufacturer and the customer. The right candidate will work well with others, take ownership, be a team player, and act with integrity. This position acts as a mentor and provides on-the-job training to lower-level technicians. Security Network Specialist with passion for aligning security architecture plans and processes with security standards and business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Alignment and Troubleshooting
    • Good Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP, IP, OSI Models
  • Database upgrades and designs
    • Experience with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), Proficient with SQL
  • Knowledge of Routers and Switches
  • Troubleshooting experience with Client Server or Web-based applications
  • Understanding of Virtualization (Specifically VMware)
  • Understanding of Cloud solutions and ability to troubleshoot (AWS)
  • Support and Maintain Microsoft Windows Server systems
  • Knowledge of corporate DNS, DHCP and proxy infrastructure 
  • Commission security systems, focusing on loading and updating software programs and implementing modifications.
  • Document commissioning details; communicate deficiencies and progress.
  • Conduct testing and inspection of systems under maintenance agreement.
  • Respond to and complete system troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues.
  • Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader.
  • Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.
  • Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
  • Submit accurate time and expense logs.
  • Work overtime when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Network CCNA, CompTIA, VMware, AWS or related qualifications
  • High end Access Control and CCTV training and network certifications
  • Understanding of OS-level virtualization
  • Understanding of OS hardening
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • Experience installing and servicing security systems; 5+ years preferred
  • Understanding network components
  • Understanding of workstation and server operating system management
  • Understanding of IP addressing and subnetting
  • Understanding of basic switch, router, and firewall principles
  • Understanding of IP video network transmission and factors that impact video rates and quality
  • Ability to read and understand design and construction documents
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must have excellent customer-facing and customer service skills
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
