Wheel press operator/Assembly Technician

Job Description

The wheel press operator/Assembly Technician will be responsible for handling all aspects of Bogie Power and Non-Power wheel sets. The operator/technician will be required to verify conformity of all assembly components, will be responsible for all documentation and required paperwork that is involved with wheel and axle assembly, the operator/technician will also have responsibilities with regards to properly proofing all documentation to be submitted and will ensure all paperwork is uploaded to the necessary locations/repositories. 

The operator/technician will also be required to operate said wheel press machine on a second or third shift due to machine availability at the Siemens French Road facility. The working location of the operator/technician will vary depending on workload, materials, and machine availability. The operator/technician must be open to shift changes which also chance location of the work location. The operator/technician will be based at the French Road wheel press 30-40% of the time and the remaining 60-70% of the time at the McClellan California Siemens Customer Services facility. 

The operator/technician must have at a minimum 2 years of operating an MAE wheel press machine, operating a FARO Arm, and having experience using high precision 
micrometers and bore gauges. 

In addition to the above listed responsibilities, the operator/technician will also support all Power and Non-Power bogie builds as time and schedules allow for it.
