Siemens is operating a Software Development Center in Portugal targeting Intelligent Solutions for the future of Mobility. We want YOU to join our team in the capacity of:

Trainee Program C++ Developer Train Planning and Dispatching Systems (m/f/d) 

Six months trainee program in Siemens Mobility, where you’ll rapidly build up in-depth knowledge and experience our business from different perspectives, gaining a deep understanding of C++ and object-oriented programming.  

You are a high-energy person and passionate about programming who wants to get directly involved in the daily work of our international team. Great, then we can’t wait to meet you! 

What we offer: 

Training  (6 weeks) 

  • C++ programming skills, including: syntax; pointers; references; memory management; exception handling; classes; namespaces; functions; lambdas; STL overall concepts (data structures, algorithms, iterators, smart pointers,  threading, concurrency). 
  • Object oriented programming (with practical applications in C++):classes interfaces, abstract-concrete, attributes, members, visibility; abstraction, inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation; aggregation/composition relationships; UML class diagrams; clear understanding of most common design patterns. 

Internship at Siemens​ (18 weeks) 

  • In job experience working in agile teams 
  • Following a Software Development Process (requirements elicitation and refining, planning, design, implementation, testing and deployment) 
  • Insertion in an international multi-cultural and world distributed team 
  • Contribute to the development of world class software products used in the Railway and mass mobility industries.  
  • An experienced team during the program who will support you reaching your individual career goals and guide you to craft your future with us. ​ 

We would love you to bring to us: 

  • Grade and master senior (from 4thyear) students in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, etc. 
  • Academic programming experience  
  • Experience in object-oriented programming. 
  • Provable passion for software development (e.g., through university or private projects, internships, etc.); 
  • Team player with passion for quality, to transform complex and manifold requirements into efficient, sustainable and modular software components, 
  • Willingness to build a new development site in an interdisciplinary team in an international environment; 
  • Passion and willingness to learn​ 
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
