We are looking for an experienced Field Technician familiar with Building Automation Systems (BAS) to join our team. If you take initiative with assignments, demonstrate a strong work ethic, are a solid team player with a collaborative nature, and interested in an exciting career in the Construction and HVAC Industry, then we want to hear from you!

What will you do?

  • Technical | hands-on:
    • System start-ups, programming, utilizing commissioning tools provided
    • HMI - Graphics creation database management
    • PID tuning – Completes final critical adjustments calibration and commissioning reports on systems following installation and preliminary set up.
  • Travel: Working on construction sites in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick
  • Time Management: Work toward the project schedule and work package received from the supervisor and or project manager and maintain regular communication on the status and execution of the projects assigned.
  • Collaboration: work with other trades on site to complete system integrations and troubleshooting
  • Documentation: Complete all job closeout documentation per PMSBT Acceptance process policy as well as any RMA and warranty labour relief.
  • Presentations: Conduct training and development sessions for customers on site or at the branch.
  • Coaching End Users: Deliver technical support coaching and direction to end users and other Service Technicians as applicable.

What will you need to succeed?

  • 3 years of college or technical school (Technologist) or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience; C.E.T considered an asset
  • 3-5 years of direct experience working with Building Automation Systems:
    • BAS Programming: 3 year (Preferred)
    • Commissioning and start-ups
    • HVAC knowledge will be considered an asset Good knowledge of building systems and relevant standards
    • Communication Protocols: BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, MSTP
    • Troubleshooting skills - able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems
  • Self-motivated and calm under pressure
  • Commercially and technically aware
  • Valid driver’s license is essential
