Learning and Development Practitioners are typically involved with identify learning/ training needs, seeing/sourcing training and learning solutions, delivering and evaluating training as well as stakeholder liaison to ensure business needs are met.

The Siemens Mobility, Education and Skills function at the National Training Academy for Rail (NTAR) in Northampton are responsible for the competence and training records for Siemens Mobility. We plan, organise and supervise the Northampton building workload ensuring our teams are always trained to a high standard.

We are also responsible for training external people through the NTAR Brand in everything from Train, Signal and rail electrification maintenance.

We are recruiting a school or college leaver to join our apprenticeship scheme who want to make a difference and develop their skills in Learning and Development training.

The challenge

Part of being an apprentice at Siemens means you get to work on real life projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a 2 year apprenticeship where you will earn your qualification in Learning and Development Level 3.

The apprenticeship will be over 2 years where you will attend college or take part in virtual learning for you 20% off the job training.

Here is what you can make a difference in:

  • Help to lead training and development of our teams working in the Rail Industry, this includes Health and Safety, maintenance procedures, safety critical and business critical training.
  • Application and mobile platform development.

The candidate

Minimum Educational Requirements:

You will have achieved or be on track to achieve at least 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above including Maths and English language or 3 A Levels (or BTEC equivalent) at grade C or above.
