Job Description

The Advisor, Financial Advisory Southeast Asia, will be the key source for driving Sales Financing support, financial risk management and development of new business models, meeting changing opportunities and business potential of Siemens Business Units in Southeast Asia. Displaying a highly entrepreneurial approach in the provision of financial services and facilitating new strategic opportunities.

Responsibilities:

(i) Pre-Financing

  • Providing full range of Finance Advisory (FA) support / services in the Southeast Asia region, with particular focus on selected Siemens Business Units
  • Identifying, developing and driving leads or opportunities, in close collaboration with SFS Business Units (Commercial Finance, Equity and Project & Structured Debt), external financing partners and Siemens Companies
  • Supporting the development of new business models, go-to-market approaches, based on assessment of customer needs and products / offerings in the financial services industry
  • Creating value with financing solutions and acting as a key integrator for Siemens companies
  • Acting as (Sales) Financing point of contact and trusted financing partner
  • Supporting special projects & initiatives
  • Further developing strong SFS Finance Advisory presence in Southeast Asia

(ii) Post-Financing (FIN Support)

  • Providing financial risk management support to the FIN teams of the Siemens Business Units in the respective countries, particularly where a financing programme has been implemented, e.g. channel partner financing, sale of receivables, etc
  • Coordinating with the relevant internal stakeholders in implementing the financing programmes which have been implemented in the Southeast Asia region, e.g. reconciliation of sale of receivables and proceeds, uploading of invoices and relevant information required by financiers, onboarding of customers to the respective financiers’ platforms
  • Supporting special projects & initiatives relating to financing programmes for the respective businesses, e.g. various digitalization programmes to improve the operational efficiency of the financing programmes
  • Review of credit policy of the respective businesses, as part of implementation of financing programmes in that business or region

It is envisaged that there will generally be approximately 50:50 split of time spent between pre-financing and post-financing responsibilities.

Skills:
  • Master’s degree or similar in business administration, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years work experience in Finance in an international company or financial institution
  • Deep knowledge of financing products, solutions and instruments: project/structured/commercial debt, equity, fund solutions, credit insurance, special solutions (including sale of receivables, factoring programs / supply chain financing)
  • Understanding of projects, products and solutions of the respective Siemens Companies' markets including key players, market dynamics, business mechanics and sales processes
  • Capability to drive results in a fast-paced/deadline-oriented environment
  • Sense of urgency and adaptability to a changing environment
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with a large variety of internal and external partners at management level
  • Proven knowledge of the Southeast Asia region and its financing specifics
