The Goole Rail facility is the latest major investment in manufacturing made by Siemens in the UK. The facility built at the location will assemble and commission the DTUP (Deep Tube Upgrade Program) trains for London Underground, starting with a contract for the Piccadilly Line. This project is for the Siemens Rolling Stock, Metro Business Segment, which is headquartered in Vienna in Austria - we are effectively 'twinning' the site in Goole, Yorkshire.
Whilst the building project for the Goole site is ongoing, we need passionate individuals to help ensure the overall quality of our processes and procedures. And there is opportunity for travel both around the UK and abroad!

The Challenge

Embark on your 12-month placement with us whilst taking part in our fantastic intern development programme. We will build an individual training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role.

This great opportunity allows you to see how a train manufacturing facility is built from the ground up where every day will be different. We are looking for anyone who is studying towards a degree or is a post-graduate studying towards a Masters or a PHD.

Here is a taste of what you can expect from this internship:
  • Documenting the logistics and operations processes.
  • Working in the digitalisation space, 'twinning' our Vienna site into Goole.
  • Working on our Siemens management systems, with a particular focus on operations.
  • Conducting analysis and planning of tasks
  • Mapping of systems, review meetings and KPIs supporting the operational performance of the plant
  • Analysing data, process control and auditing
The Candidate

We are looking for innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following:
  • Studying towards a 2:2 or above in Engineering Management, Manufacturing Management, Business Administration, Statistics or other related degrees

  • Excellent communication skills - you will be expected to communicate at all levels in the business
  • An understanding of manufacturing or business processes is desirable but not essential
  • Flexibility is key! The range of tasks involved in this role require it.
What else do I need to know?

Alongside your role, the intern development programme will teach softer skills such as communication, teamwork, commercial awareness, digitalisation and innovation. We also offer plenty of opportunity to develop your career whilst offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.

We’re looking for passionate teammates with the aptitude and attitude to succeed in the world of Quality. Apply now and join Europe’s leading engineering and technology company.

The total rewards' package for this role includes a salary of £18,525 per annum. We know that not everyone’s lifestyle is the same, so we operate a flexible benefits scheme where you can tailor your benefits package to suit your individual needs.

If we all thought the same, we would never think of anything new. That’s why we recruit great minds from all walks of life.
Siemens recognise that building a diverse workforce is essential to the success of our business. We strongly encourage applications from a diverse talent pool and welcome the opportunity to discuss flexibility requirements and workplace adjustments with all applicants to encourage agile working, flexibility and innovation.
