Materials Manager

Job Description

The Field Services Department is seeking a skilled professional to manage and lead a Team of specialists responsible for material support. This individual will be responsible to manage all logistics and procurement activities for Siemens Rolling Stock Field Sites across the continental United States and Canada. The position reports to the Director of Field Services at Siemens Mobility, Inc.


·       Coordinates and leads a team of 6-8 RMA coordinators, materials specialists, and purchasing specialists

·       Manage material support to all Siemens Field Sites during the Commissioning and Warranty phases of all rolling stock projects.

·       Maintains open communication between Field Sites and Manufacturing Factory in Sacramento.

·       Facilitates dialogue between internal Siemens business units.

·       Develops and fosters relationships with external vendors

·       Works cross-functionally with all departments at Siemens Mobility, Inc.

·       Directs procurement activities related to Purchase Orders, Vendor Setup, and Invoicing.

·       Directs shipment of material: Domestic or international; ground, freight or overnight.

·       Collaborates with Field Services Management Team to work towards Department objectives.

·       Determine short-term and long-term strategies for materials team.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·       Required professional experience: Previous experience in logistics coordination.

·       Required professional experience: Previous experience in procurement.

·       Required professional experience: Previous experience with the RMA process.

·       Experience with SAP, SalesForce, and Microsoft Suite applications.

·       Travel Requirements: 10%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·       Preferred education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.

·       Preferred experience working in a corporate setting.

·       Preferred experience in leadership / management.

·       Preferred experience making presentations and presenting to groups.

·       Leadership abilities to foster positive interaction with diverse groups.

·       Ability to adapt to constant change and implement new processes.

·       Ability to work through adversity in high pressure situations.
