Cooperation in a multidisciplinary research and development team on the topic of sustainable material design and manufacturing. Exciting projects on truly human and planet centered product design give you the possibility to use the gathered insights in designing real products and analysis the environmental impact of various designs.


Your tasks will be:

  • Assessment and integration of lifecycle assessment methodologies and databases in the digital tool chain (CAD, CAE, CAM) to take into account environmental impact in product design optimization.
  • Application, analysis and comparison of various design alternatives with respect to environmental indicators.
  • Foster circular product design by selecting appropriate materials, fabrication and design to reduce environmental impact and support the definition of new product/service strategies.
  • You gather experience in industrial and application-oriented research environment.

  • You have background in material and production engineering, sustainable design engineering, environmental design, integrated product design application programming, design for sustainability.
  • Experience in the field of product development, product design and life cycle assessment is required.
  • Ideally you have practical experience in the use of CAx-Software.
  • Previous work experience in working student, internship or industrial placement positions will be considered a plus.
  • You are highly motivated and eager to learn and you demonstrate an independent and goal-oriented work style.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential for your successful application.
Duration of the internship is based on university regulations.
